It was an amazing Christmas and New Year!!! I spent tons of quality time with my family and Rio, realized how much more fun your parents are when you aren't hating them for "holding you back" a.k.a you grow up, and ate some great home cooked and restaurant food.

We went to the circus!!! And even though it was all in Russian we had an amazing time. The costumes were great, the elephants was stinky, the clowns were silly, Rio was brave, and we had an amazing time and Rio got it all on tape :)

We suddenly became Museum aficionados. We looked at paintings and even became a part of the show.

Added to my list of things I never thought would happen is.... my mom and dad let me go clubbing while under their roof... they even gave me money... we made some friends and had a blast!!

IM BACK!!!!! Its been almost a year, wow what a year, from the crazy internship in Maryland this summer to my wonderful internship at the hospital, the trips to Kings dominion with good friends and family, The wonderful time spent with my cousins and their cousins, the craziness of fall 05, working with the crazy people at LU Men's Basketball, new friends made old friends lost, it goes on and on. I cannot begin to document it all; in fact I should really learn how to put pictures on here so you can see for yourself. I've had a blast and also had some tough times. By far the hardest part has been no being done with school in December and having 1 credit left. I guess I should thank God and be grateful to him. The next post will be when I learn how to put pictures on here!!! hahaha till then my dear friends keep warm wherever you may be!!

As is commonly known, Public relations is often seen as propaganda.Propaganda is the negative connotation for the work that most practitioners do of informing and relating to the public. At Liberty University young men and women are being encouraged to be honest, so that one day they will be able to get good jobs with reputable firms. What are we supposed to think when those who are supposed to serve as our role models are the very ones defaming the image.

NEW YORK - Two former senior executives at the Ogilvy & Mather advertising agency were convicted on Tuesday of conspiring to overbill the government for a campaign warning children about the dangers of drugs.
A jury deliberated over the course of two days before reaching guilty verdicts against Thomas Early, 49, of Rockville Centre, and Shona Seifert, 44, of Southport, Conn., prosecutors said.
Each defendant faces up to five years in prison on multiple counts of fraud, false claims and false statements. Sentencing was set for May 16.
The fraud occurred after Ogilvy & Mather won a $684 million contract in 1998 to work on a national media campaign for the Office of National Drug Control Policy, a branch of the executive office of the U.S. president.
Prosecutors said the defendants persuaded hundreds of employees at the distinguished advertising agency to overbill the government by exaggerating their work on the project.
Defense lawyers said the defendants had no motive to cheat the federal government and committed no crimes in the advertising campaign.

While I appreciate the United States being speculative and suspecting, I will be very happy if one of my heroes, Secretary General Kofi Annan is proven to be the honorable, careful and intelligent man I have always known him to be.

For those of you who don’t know Kofi Annan is the Secretary-General of the United Nations. A national of Ghana who is fluent in English, French and several African languages, he was appointed on 17 December by the General Assembly to serve a term of office from 1 January 1997 through 31 December 2001.Prior to his appointment, Mr. Annan served for thirty years as an international public servant in the United Nations. He will have been the U.N secretary general for 10 years in
December. Mr. Annan served as Under-Secretary-General for Peace-keeping Operations, and for a year before that, as Assistant Secretary-General for Peace-keeping Operations. In these positions, he helped to formulate new approaches to the complex uncertainties of a post-cold-war world.

This great mind is now being asked to resign due to speculation on the U.N. oil-for-food program, which is under investigation for corruption and mismanagement. Russia, China, Britain, France, Germany and dozens of other countries have rallied to support beleaguered U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan after a U.S. senator called for his resignation - but the United States has stayed quiet. Three years after winning the Nobel Peace Prize, Annan is the target of escalating attacks in the United States.
The Minnesota Republican Sen. Norm Coleman who is leading one of five U.S. congressional investigations into the oil-for-food program, wrote in Wednesday's Wall Street Journal Annan should resign because "the most extensive fraud in the history of the U.N. occurred on his watch.” Outside the United States, there is no clamor for Annan's resignation, and the secretary-general has been receiving letters and phone calls of support.

The Pacific rim region is a very vast region that stretches from Japan to Australia.
Church planter evangelist Gerald Davis working with the International Mission Board
uses his media experience in Southeast Asia the worlds largest location of earthquakes to work to identify and promote the very diverse pacific rim to to southern baptists and other denominations. It has proven difficult because this is a high area of political problems, natural disasters and persecution where missionaries are not accepted and have even been thrown out of certain countries. The greatest problem is balancing the need for people to pray for these people and at the same time convince them to come and be missionaries in this place of great suffering. Currently the project struggles with identifiying itself and coming up with a logo and identity so that they can begin to promote this mission.

As I try to plan my trip home to Moscow, I have come across many obstacles including people who are unhappy with their jobs, instead of finding satisfation in helping other people solve their problems they create extra problems for them. The Delta airlines lady sent me on a ( i mean are you kidding me) I call back Delta and get the nicest man and PLEAD with him to SAVE me from this hole I am slowly digging. Only to find out that if I moved my flight from the 15th to the 14th my ticket drops by $500 dollars $500 dollars people! This means that now I can go SHOPPING!!! no not really there is this little thing called college that I am in whic sucks you DRY till u are grabbing dimes off the floor that fell out of a pinata so you can wash your clothes. Ahhhhh college life!!! If you are ever looking for a cheap ticket go to JUSTFARES.COM or call them, they are geat it's like a free travel agent.

In Spite of Life

In spite of what life has thrown most of us lately, it is important to remember to constanly look ahead. Whether it was a hard class, or a hard day or even a hard week we must continually remember that there is soooo much more ahead. This week has been very interesting for me in the sense that it has made me think alot about the people around me and how trust is a good as well as a bad thing. TRUST that is one five letter word that i will now define what it means to me
T - ell not everyone what you really feel.
R - ely only on God!
U- understand that only my immediate family really cares what happens to me.
S- adly life being cool is not all it is made out to be learing that the hard way.
T- hings that are one way today will not always be the same way tommorow.

While I greatly enjoyed sophomore year i do have to say that I made a lot of mistakes both academically and other that I do not intend to repeat, but if i did not would that not make me inhuman? I mean don't we all make mistakes???

I now have this little problem that I need advice on: I freeze up when I speak publicly and totally balnk out on what I have to say, this is a BIG problem because I am a Public Relations major. If anyone has ANY suggestions please help me out :)

The Dreary Halls

So today I made a detour into the fine arts hall and even at 3:30 pm it was full of life, music people walking around, you know exciting sounds!!! It got me wondering why the Communictions deparment which specializes in communicating was so drab! I mean as mush as I love my major i would not be there at 3 in the afternnon. Why dont we have discussions and cool things like a TV so that we can watch commercials and keep up with current trends I am sure we can afford a TV!! Any way I was just thinking that if I had something to encourage us to go to my department maybe I would be more motivated. Hmmmmmm Feelings.... Thoughts.....

A whole new world

Friends and acquaintances:
Just a reminder about he curve balls that life will throw at you. If anyone had told me this semester would turn out the way it did I would have laughed in their faces because I had it ALL planned out. If anyone had said that Philosophy would be my hardest class I never would have belieleved them ,so to all my friends, who are students I ask you: Is it just me or do all of you also have no interest in any class that has nothing to do with you major?
There is also this little project I am working on it its entitled :
Planning my Future.
Ladies and gentlemen this is a self taught course which if you begin early you will encounter more help along the way that you could ever possibly imagine, and it is also alot of fun.
I recently told a friend of mine that one day I wanted to have a house in the Hampton's ( and of course I got laughed at). I dream of a lot of things a lot of them intellectual and a lot of them spiritual, however I must confess a lot of them are also material, and I am not ashamed to say it , because it is all those things that keep me going, they are what make me get up in the morning to go to my boring philosophy class, because I know that failing that one class could alter my perfectly laid out plans, it is those dreams that motivate me to organize my life and do the homework for my Planning my future class, it is those very same dreams that give me the power to be able to say no to things that matter a lot to me like going out with my friends when I have homework or just taking a weekend off and playing.
I urge you all to use things that you want or want to do later in life to to motivate yourself.

Another day in the life of yossy

Yesterday was great! Fun times at the Olive Garden with some of the best friends I have, Finally one of us is an adult, so we celebrated and enjoyed many good laughs. I still am waiting for the day when we will get kicked out of a restaurant for "laughing to much" , but we all know that it will soon happen, we can only wait for that day. But I will be there ready to take pictures with my tre ghetto camera:) , of what would be a seemingly ludicrous, yet very probable event. Oh yeah I really enjoyed driving along the road in the G-unit! dont worry dammy ur car was spared this time but soon , yes very soon, i will show it what it is like to be owned by a woman, ha ha ha!!

Never thought I would end up with one of these things... u know... my bewy own site!!!!! But here I am, and this is a great day to start a site. I spent my morning setting up for a japanese festival, crawling through tunnels and having one of the greatest saturday mornings this year in the amazement square childrens museum which by the way used to be an insecticide factory. Then I sang How far is heaven that Los lonely boys hit single with my big brother, and my new friends Andy and mike. TONS OF FUN!!!!
Bu yeah tons of work today and boy am I not ready for it. My passions are Advertising, Public Relations, Reggae, and hanging out with my CREW!!!! so here is a awebsite for y'all to check out.
